Well, I thought it would be a good time to update my bio, seeing as a bunch of info on my old one was now inaccurate.

If you have found your way to my blog, you are probably a friend, a fly fisherman, a jeep owner, or dutch oven chef. Those tend to be the popular page views I get on my site here.

Either way, you are most likely viewing this specific page because you are wondering about the person who writes this blog. So, basically, I am an avid fly fisherman, husband, father, and dog owner who views life with a Christian world-view. The name of the blog was catchy, rhymed, and makes a good acronym (FFC), and thought that it represented a piece of who I am. I probably attract readers with the name, and I probably turn-off readers with name.

Even so, this blog is intended as a place for me to jot down ideas and thoughts about my interests that others might want to share in. If you still reading this, I give you much credit.

RE: Paint Creek / Lake Orion-
Thought it was a designated trout stream; if so, it should have legally protected minimum stream flows. That’s the only way I can think of to protect the habitat during summer.

Ran across your blog today… I really like it. The WordPress theme is really nice too. I’ve always felt like there was a connection between fly fishing and spirituality/Christianity. I look forward to your posts in the future. Keep up the good work ;-)

BTW I have a blog too. I haven’t kept it up over the years as well as I would have liked to due to my work demands (Internet/software). It’s at http://www.anglerwannabe.com. I’ve moved platforms and changed hosts so I’ve lost years of postings and pics unfortunately. I think I do it more as a journal really. Anyway, check it out when you get a chance.

I always enjoy reading your entries. They are refreshing. I haven’t come back to the blogosphere yet. I have a journal of sorts at my link. You should check out the site it’s hosted on. Not really a blog host persay. christian Outdoorsman is mainly a get together forum for… well… Christian outdoorsmen :) . I am sure you would enjoy and we have a bunch of fellow fly anglers as well.

Hey hey!! Thanks for the quick response!! Quick question though… (and yes it’s probably a dumb one!!)… I’ve read in the help files for WordPress that we can only use their themes on wordpress.com; that if we want to use our own themes that we need to go to some other webhosting site… the question then is: how are you using this theme then on wordpress.com? did you upgrade or something? just curious!! and thanks for the comment on the flies… I just got starting into tying my own… I’m sure you’re quite busy in life (as we all are!!) but if you get a chance, check out how our LORD revealed himself to me through fly tying!!! http://awmiller.wordpress.com/2007/09/13/i-think-im-starting-to-get-it/

    Thanks again!!

hi, stumbled across yuor website, really enjoy it, and everything you talk about seems to have some relevence on how i’ve been living my christian life, just didn’t know how to put it into words. I myself am an avid fly fisherman (not the greatest, but at least I’m out there!) and if your ever up in Canada on Vancouver Island, let me know and I’ll show you a northern fishing experience. so long eh?

Hi, I came across your site through Rick Mansfeild’s blog on cast iron cooking. Looks good. One of my brothers got me a fly rod a while ago but I haven’t yet been able to use it. I hope to soon. Good blog. -Brian

Ran across your site on one of the fly fishing boards I check periodically. You’ve done a nice job with WordPress and have a great site. Always glad to see another Christian and fly fisherman.

I am attempting a second “go” at fly fishing this year after giving up about 25 years ago. And now that I’ve done that, I want to get back up to MI to try it out. (Originally from there and still have family in the area.)

Congrats on the little one! They are a wonderous joy!

    Best regards,
    JohnR

  16. Thanks for stopping by! I am planning on posting a bit more that fishing season is starting again soon…

  17. Rick Robinson Says:

Howdy from Montana. Liked your site and all. Have you ever fished the Big Horn River in Montana? I just started flyfishing this past summer and am captured. I live 40 miles from the river on the Northern Cheyenne Indian reservation. Come on out!!

  18. Someday I hope to fish Montana. The stories I have read and hear probably do not do justice to the reality.
