Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. ~Confucius
To poke a wood fire is more solid enjoyment than almost anything else in the world. ~Charles Dudley Warner
The word simple has many definitions, and maybe they all apply to this blog as I attempt to share and record my ventures into the sport of fly fishing. I’ve always tried do so many different things in life, but experience is now showing me that the simple things in life are usually the best things.
Once a year, I escape to the northern Michigan woods and chase brook trout in the Autumn. Even though I look forward to the fishing, I think I look forward to sitting on the river bank with a cup of coffee in the early morning just as much as hooking into a nice fish.
As I record my thoughts and travels, hopefully I can share some of the simple things that I encounter as I wade through the stream waving a stick.
